Elaine spent many years in the corporate/commercial world before deciding to pursue a legal career. In the 1990s she set up the registration of two companies managed and operated all aspects of the companies, including administration, HR, payroll, marketing and banking before deciding to study law in 2000.

Elaine graduated from Thames Valley University and attended the Guildford School of Law to study the Legal Practice course.

After graduating, Elaine obtained a training contract with a local firm and qualified as a solicitor in January 2009.

Two weeks after being admitted to the Roll of Solicitors, Elaine instructed Counsel to represent her client at the Court of Appeal in the reported case of Burgess v Stokes [2009] EWCA Civ 548 . The case was an appeal by the mother Hayley Burgess against a committal order arising from contact proceedings. The Appeal was allowed.

Elaine worked at another local firm of solicitors and instructed a leading QC on the reported case of Kremen v Agrest [2013] EWCA Civ 41 . This was a financial remedy case appealed by an intervener against an order refusing to make a charging order over a property beneficially owned by the husband and represented the only available asset which might be used by him to satisfy an order to pay a lump sum to his wife. The Appeal was dismissed.

To broaden her knowledge and experience, Elaine took locum roles and travelled in the South East, South West, Midlands and Buckinghamshire.

Elaine understands clients’ concerns whether it is in financial remedy proceedings, divorce, or Children Act matters. Elaine has been divorced before she ever studied law or matrimonial caselaw. She has a ‘flair’ for making clients feel at ease from the first contact with them.

Elaine is now happily married to her Prince Charming.

She shares her home with her ‘babies’ two Persian cats called Lady Tiara and Princess.
